meet ana

Ana Christina (b. 2002) is a self-taught Persian artist based in The Hague. Art has been a part of her life from a young age; she often spent school hours sketching her classmates and exploring their different faces. This fascination with abstract portraits developed into a unique style that embraces the beauty of natural imperfections.

Ana’s work intentionally steps away from beauty standards, focusing instead on capturing the true essence of people, complete with moles, wrinkles, and textures, all portrayed in an unpolished way. These faces, though not realistic, carry the essence of real people, embracing imperfections. Every drawing holds a meaningful name.

While Ana’s academic background is in safety management, a field grounded in structure and theory, art became a crucial outlet, offering her a space for freedom and creativity. This contrast has shaped her approach to art as an unplanned, spontaneous process where imperfections are welcomed and even valued as part of the creative journey.

get to know the studio

Kliff Studio was born from a desire to create without limits, a space where art doesn’t have to conform to any rules or be perfect. Kliff Studio is a place of freedom and intuitive expression. Here, the artist works with intuition to create, allowing each piece to unfold organically and pushing the boundaries of what art can be.

Working with mixed media ranging from recycled fabrics and cardboard to acrylic paint, Ana creates layers and textures that reflect the world around us. She is inspired by earthy tones, integrating them into human figures in a way that brings a sense of calm yet playfulness to her work.

“When I start working on a piece, I find inspiration in something that catches my attention. It could be a color, an emotion, or a shape in nature. I let it flow intuitively, using colors and textures, and starting to layer them. I don’t try to follow a strict plan; I like the randomness of it and enjoy never quite knowing when a piece is finished. Experimenting keeps the process exciting and calming.”
